Our 'Yoga for You' classes are open to everyone - you, me, us, we, all are welcome.
This is a dynamic Vinyasa style class, where we move in time with the breath. The aim being to improve your strength, stamina and flexibility, while tapping into that place of inner calm.
Moving with awareness and at your own pace - you'll be encouraged to balance effort with 'letting-go' to improve physical condition, while enjoying time to yourself and cultivating some self-love along the way.
Classes are inspired by the Ashtanga Vinyasa* tradition where one posture flows seamlessly into the next and the same sequence applies every time you practise, with each posture working as a prerequisite for the next. The beauty of the system is that no matter how big, small, short, tall, age, fitness level, the practice can be easily modified to suit your ability and energy levels.
Classes include a sequence of yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), a little meditation, some yoga chat (philosophy) and we most definitely take a light-hearted approach.
Achieving the perfect posture is not the goal – the goal is to to be present, with acceptance and gratitude for where you are in the moment and without attaching yourself to an end result.
If you’ve never done Yoga before just come and do your best, be yourself and find what feels good!
These classes can be very helpful for those who have moved on from the early stages of parenting, having re-built some core strength and flexibility, but they are not suitable for Pregnancy.
*The Ashtanga Yoga Vinyasa system was developed by the late Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois almost 100 years ago in Mysore, India. His son, Sharath, keeps the lineage alive as he and his family teach all over the world. For more information click here.
